The 7 Lagoons Tour is one of the most beautiful routes in the entire Vilcanota mountain range, where you will witness the majestic Ausangate, one of the five highest snow-capped mountains in Peru. You will have the opportunity to connect with the purest nature and admire a stunning place in the Cusco Andes, surrounded by lagoons of various shades.

Additionally, you will immerse yourself in the Pacchanta hot springs to relax before enjoying a traditional lunch prepared by a local family who will warmly welcome us into their home. This is a one-day excursion where you will discover native communities that still preserve their culture and traditions. Are you ready for this experience?

CUSCO - PACCHANTA - COMERCOCHA - AZULCOCHA - PACCHANTA

The highlight of the day: Hike at the foot of the majestic Ausangate mountain and explore the beautiful lagoons with their various shades.

We will start very early, picking up passengers from their accommodations between 4:00 am and 4:45 am. Once everyone is on board, we will begin our journey in our tourist service minivan, heading south from the city of Cusco, passing through various towns along the way.

We will travel along the transoceanic highway, crossing part of the southern valley and then ascending to the heights of the towns of Ccatca and Ocongate. Along the way, we will enjoy stunning Andean landscapes and rivers flowing down from the snow-capped mountains. The journey will take approximately four hours until we reach the community of Pacchanta, situated at an altitude of 4,200 meters, where we will arrive at our restaurant.

Once we leave the minivan, we will head to the restaurant’s dining area to enjoy a hot breakfast with a variety of options to choose from, along with the essential coca tea. Afterward, you will have time to use the restrooms and purchase any necessary items for the trek.

The guide will give a brief talk about the hike before we start walking along a trail leading toward the Vilcanota mountain range. Along the way, we will meet some local villagers. As we continue, we will gradually ascend, passing by hundreds of alpacas and llamas grazing. We may also spot chinchillas running between the rocks and enjoy the breathtaking scenery of meadows and mountains. Eventually, we will reach the base of the Ausangate glacier, where the first three lagoons—Comercocha and Alqacocha—offer spectacular views.

After spending some time admiring the scenery, we will begin our descent, passing by smaller lagoons with different colors. We will also have the opportunity to see ducks and birds inhabiting these waters. Along the return path, we will pass by the Patacocha, Otorongocha, and Azulcocha lagoons. The entire hike will take approximately five hours, during which we will traverse incredible landscapes.

Upon arriving back in the community of Pacchanta, we will enjoy a delicious lunch with various options to choose from. After replenishing our energy, you will have time to rest. Additionally, you can opt to relax in the hot springs, which are natural volcanic and medicinal pools—another incredible gift from nature.

Finally, satisfied with this amazing experience, we will board the minivan in the afternoon for our return trip to Cusco, concluding the tour at Plaza Regocijo.

Pickup from your accommodation:
We will pick you up early in the morning from your accommodation to take you to the Seven Lagoons. We will be in communication to coordinate your pickup.
Experienced Tour Guide:
A certified tour guide fluent in both English and Spanish will accompany you throughout the journey. The guide will share insights about the culture and nature of Ausangate, ensuring your safety and comfort so you can enjoy your trip without worries.
Private Transportation Service:
All transportation is included in this tour. We will pick you up from your hotel and, at the end of the tour, take you back to your hotel’s doorstep in Cusco.

- Buffet Lunch: A delicious and freshly prepared meal after the hike to help you regain energy. You can choose from a selection of Peruvian dishes, including vegetarian options.
First Aid Kit:
All guides at Ausangate Perú are trained in first aid. We conduct mandatory training sessions for them every February. Your guide will always carry a first aid kit and an oxygen tank to handle basic emergencies such as altitude sickness, diarrhea, cuts, or scrapes. If necessary, we will evacuate you as quickly as possible and ensure you receive medical care at a clinic.

Our team will be available to assist you with anything you need throughout the entire trip.

You can also explore the entire Seven Lagoons circuit on horseback, offering another way to experience this stunning landscape among the snow-capped mountains. To arrange this, it is necessary to coordinate in advance so that everything is set up with the locals of Pacchanta, who will be waiting with the horses. This service has an additional cost in case you prefer not to walk or are unable to do so.
